Pandemic Response Initiatives Update: April 14, 2020

Sewing Initiative
Since our email of last week, we have received many donations of fabric and other supplies.  If there are people who would like to sew the laundry bags, scrub caps, or non-medical masks, please contact either Cathy Adkin or Brenda Bourdeau and they will be happy to provide you with the supplies you need.

Please note that the laundry bags and scrub caps are going to local health care workers.  The non-medical masks will be made available to members of our congregation.

We also have some different pattern options from our first email:

Non-Medical Mask
Ear Saving Scrub Cap

When you have items ready for distribution, please contact either Cathy Adkin (519.245.0391) or Brenda Bourdeau (519.282.9441) and a driver will be sent to pick up from your location.  The Pandemic Response Team will ensure that your items are distributed appropriately.

Food Drive
There has been an excellent response to our Food Drive and we thank everyone for their generous donations!    Please note that this will be an ongoing endeavor until we can get back to our weekly collection at church and restart our Hospitality Meal and Soup Kitchen.

All donations will be gratefully accepted, but items the Salvation Army Food Bank are in short supply of include:

  • Single puddings and fruit cups
  • Jello (either boxes or single servings)
  • Instant potatoes
  • Canned meat
  • Canned fruit
  • Hamburger Helper
Thanks for your ongoing support and being a great community of faith.

Yours faithfully,

The Pandemic Response Team
